BBMI is deeply committed to empowering and uplifting vulnerable communities, with a particular focus on widows in Mwanza, Tanzania. In a region where many women face social and economic challenges following the loss of their spouses, BBMI steps in to provide holistic support designed to restore dignity, self-sufficiency, and hope. BBMI helps widows regain financial independence through a variety of income-generating initiatives. Widows receive training in basic business skills and seed capital to start microenterprises such as tailoring, soap-making, vegetable farming, or poultry keeping Losing a spouse often leads to deep emotional trauma, especially when coupled with social stigma. BBMI provides Counselling Services: Both individual and group counselling to help widows process grief and find healing. Through Bible studies, prayer groups, and pastoral care, widows are encouraged to find strength and purpose in their faith. In many cases, widows in Tanzania are denied their rightful inheritance or land due to customary practices. Through workshops and community outreach, BBMI helps widows understand Tanzanian laws that protect their property and inheritance rights. We Partner with Legal Advocates When necessary,and connects widows with legal professionals who help them reclaim land or assets that have been unjustly taken. BBMI ALSO provides School Supplies & Tuition Support to help widows send their children to school by covering uniforms, books, and fees.
