Kellen Njura Nyaga Kibathi
Kellen Njura Nyaga Kibathi was born in Karingari, Embu County, into a deeply devout Christian family of Mr Zakayo Njeru(now late) and Mrs Grace weveti. She completed her education at Ngoire Primary and Secondary Schools, after which she moved to Embu town, then known as Kirimari, to join her father.
It was during this time that she met her husband, Mr. James Nyaga Kibathi(now late).
From a young age, Kellen was aware of her divine calling. With a heart passionate for worship, she embraced singing, dancing, and preaching, often traveling across Embu to share the gospel.
Her home was built on the solid Christian foundation instilled by her parents. Despite being married to a man who was not initially born again, Kellen established a prayer altar in her home, which became a center for daily prayers. This altar was a place of devotion not only for her children but also for neighbors who would join in evening devotions.
The Kibathi family initially attended the East African Pentecostal Church, and later, donated land for the construction of a Pentecostal Evangelistic Fellowship of Africa (P.E.F.A.) Church near their home, she and her children became members of that congregation. As her husband worked away from Embu as a prison warden, they both served in various leadership roles at the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) upon his return, when he became the Senior Chief of Embu Municipality.
She is a proud mother of nine children and a grandmother to twelve. Kellen brings a wealth of spiritual gifts to her ministry, including teaching, singing, and a deep commitment to mercy ministries. Her compassionate heart has led her to care for many orphaned children and individuals in need within her community. A generous and selfless leader, Kellen continues to serve both her church and her community with unwavering faith, dedication, and love.
