Rev. Hesbon Odera Abong’o

Rev. Hesbon Odera Abong’o was born in Kisumu County, in the western region of Kenya, and raised in the small village of Kobura. He grew up in a devout Christian family, with both of his parents serving as priests in the Anglican Church of Kenya, which laid the foundation for his early spiritual upbringing.

In 2014, after being expelled from school in Kisumu, Hesbon moved
to Nairobi, where he faced a difficult year on the streets of Dandora. However, through the intervention of his brother, Hesbon was given a second chance. He left the streets and returned to education, enrolling in a local institution where he successfully completed his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.|

In 2016, Hesbon experienced a profound spiritual transformation when he gave his life to Christ. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life, one that was centered on faith and service. In 2017, he became a member of King’s Highway Baptist Church, Nairobi branch, which at the time held its services at Nacico Plaza before moving to Kayole Jacaranda Grounds. His deep love for
Christ and his commitment to serving Him fueled his spiritual journey, leading him to take an active role in the church.

In 2020, Hesbon enrolled in Bible school, where he was elected as the student president. He graduated in 2023 with a diploma in Christian Missions. Throughout his time in Bible school, he demonstrated a strong passion for ministry, particularly in youth leadership, evangelism, missionary work, and pastoral care.

Prayer has been a cornerstone of Pastor Hesbon’s life, providing him with the strength and perseverance to face life’s challenges. His unwavering dedication to the gospel, combined with a deep commitment to spiritual growth, continues to inspire those around him. Hesbon’s ministry remains firmly grounded in the Word of God, which serves as the fountain of his insight and wisdom as he
continues to serve and lead in his community.
